Hi. I'm Amanda. I love to make things. When I am creating something interesting or beautiful, I feel like it's the highest form of being that there is. It makes me truly happy. I spend a lot of time in the woods, watching birds, collecting feathers, dead insects, bones, and other artifacts. I like to poke through antique stores on weekends and find old, beat-up treasures. I find inspiration in a lot of places, like historical fashion and textiles, the excess and ridiculousness of high-societies past, natural materials and their inevitable decay, the raw and instinctual behaviors of animals, and in artists such as Jan Svankmajer, Odd Nerdrum, Joseph Cornell, and Hieronymous Bosch, among others.
I'm also a soapmaker and student of perfumery, and am fascinated by the emotional connections of the senses. I surround myself with beautiful scents and objects. I live with my husband in a triangular house. I like naps. And coffee.
